About Steven Beal – Principal, Beal Business Brokers & Advisors



Steven Beal, MBA, CPA, CGA, CFA, CBV, CBI is a strategic executive with over 25 years experience in corporate management. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators Association and the International Business Broker Association. He excels at problem solving, strategic planning, and detailed financial analysis.

His previous experience includes senior financial positions in investment banking, corporate banking, and at the head office of a large Canadian bank. After years of performing financial and strategic planning and mergers & acquisitions within a bank, Steve identified the need for small and medium business to have access to the same level of expertise, inspiring him to leave his position to establish Beal Business Growth Consultants, Inc. and Beal Business Brokers & Advisors. He enjoys travel, having spent part of his career in Africa, and most of his vacations overseas. He lives in Winnipeg with his wife, Lissa.

The Beal Business Brokers & Advisors team consists of:

Daniel Parys, B.A. (Adv), Associate Consultant

Daniel joined Beal Business Brokers and Advisors in January of 2018. As Associate Consultant, he assists in valuation and analytical projects, as well as providing transaction services to business buyers and sellers. Daniel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba. His current work includes:

  • Developing detailed business plans for expansion or entry into new markets.
  • Assisting with business valuations.
  • Helping first time and experienced buyers/sellers navigate the pitfalls of the sale process.

Nelson Barros, B.Comm. (Hons), Business Broker

Nelson obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the I.H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba in 2013, where he majored in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

Nelson began as an associate consultant with Beal Consultants in May 2013 where he has gained experience working with businesses and organizations to develop business plans for expansion or entry into new markets; and performing business valuations in preparation for sale or transition within the family.

In 2015, Nelson started working on acquisitions and business sales where he currently focusses on:

  • Business sales negotiation and deal structuring under $20 million.
  • Mediation and conflict resolution as it relates to bringing buyers and sellers together for a successful close.
  • Creative approaches to traditional deal and finance structuring.
  • Helping first time and experienced buyers/sellers navigate the pitfalls of the sale process.

Peter Fast, BA. FCUIC., Senior Consultant

Peter obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Manitoba in 2010, where he majored in Economics. Peter is continuously furthering his education and experience. He is working on his Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation and is also currently enrolled in the AACI (Commercial Real Estate Appraisal) program.

Prior to joining Beal Business Advisors, Mr. Fast worked in the banking industry. He is the Senior Consultant at Beal Business Advisors, where his work includes:

  • Performing business valuations according to CBV standards and practises.
  • Creating business plans and financial projections for start-ups and expansions.
  • Reaching out to business owners across Canada for merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Develop succession planning and exit strategies.

Peter has substantial experience in financial modeling and forecasting. He is passionate about all things related to small businesses.
