October 1, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Grow business value and reduce errors with Lean workflow

Lean Management is a term that has taken on ever-widening meaning over the last 20 years and now means best practices applicable to all types of industries, non-profits, government and even personal lives. The benefits of Lean Management include documentation of the current process, reductions in errors/ defects and variability, easier training of new employees, reductions in injuries and strain, and a baseline for improvement activities.

Standardized work is the most powerful but least used Lean tool even in early adopters of Lean in manufacturing industry. Quality at Source was the process that made Motor Coach Industries gain $400 million in value over five years. Alex Abraham was actively involved in the scientific process and he has come up with one simple hack, which is laying out,  the workflow or standardized work. It is a five-step ‘Green Road:’ Process Flow – Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis – Control Plan – Work Instructions – Training Within the Industry.

In this presentation, Alex Abraham will outline the five-step process. He will also demonstrate how to set up 2-minute standard operating procedures in a very simple process. If you are a business owner, it will be the best two hours spent.

Alex Abraham P.Eng., PMP, CSSBB, CQA has over 30 years of international experience in Engineering, Lean Quality Systems and Management in executive roles. He started his career as a rocket scientist for Indian Space Research Organization which launched the famous moon rover recently.
